Spurs 4 Liverpool 0
2 sending off’s and 4 goals conceded, that was the plot at White Hart Lane. Liverpool stumbled to their 2nd defeat of the season to a superb Spurs at the London team’s home. The match was all Spurs for me, Liverpool were lost and couldn’t find their footing and it was a desperate performance which Spurs deserved.
Skrtel started in the right back position, it was probably due to the injuries for Glen Johnson and Martin Kelly that left a void in the left back position which Skrtel had to fill. The obvious choice would be Carra but with Gareth Bale attacking the on that flank, it would have been a difficult task for the deputy captain to cover. Skrtel was eventually sent off during the match together with new signing Charlie Adam’s who was sent off in the 1st half after a second yellow card after a bad tackle on Scott Parker.
Credit to Spurs for the professional performance but Kenny Dalglish has an uphill task to get the team to work harder on the training ground to get the fitness and tactics of the players up to keep going.
Its going to be a difficult season and such performances gives a sneak peek of the mammoth task in hand to get into European spots this season.
